GuessMyTier

FAQ

What is GuessMyTier?

GuessMyTier is a community-run game where you watch short Minecraft PvP 1.9+ clips and try to guess each player's real competitive tier.

What are Minecraft 1.9+ tiers?

Tiers are community-maintained skill rankings used by the Minecraft PvP 1.9+ scene to compare players across modes like Sword, Crystal, UHC, SMP, and more. Higher tiers indicate stronger, more consistent players.

What does LT / HT mean?

LT means "Low Tier" and HT means "High Tier". For each tier number, HT is stronger than LT. So HT3 is stronger than LT3, and the bracket ranks LT5 < HT5 < LT4 < HT4 < LT3 < HT3 < LT2 < HT2 < LT1 < HT1.

Can I submit my own clip?

Yes — head to /submit. Your clip will go to the moderation queue and an admin will approve it before it goes live. Make sure it follows the submission rules.

Why was my clip deleted?

Clips get removed if they break the rules: not from a ranked competitive match, too short or too long, low resolution, misleading footage, smurfing, or copyright issues. Re-submit a compliant clip.

What gamemodes are supported?

Sword, Axe, Crystal, UHC, SMP, Netherite Pot, Diamond Pot, Mace, and Other. Admins can add more later if the community asks for it.

How is difficulty calculated?

We combine the share of wrong guesses, how spread out the votes are across tiers, and the average distance between guesses and the truth. Clips with too few votes are weighted lightly until they get more data.

Can I report a wrong tier?

Yes. Every clip has a "Report" button — pick a reason ("Wrong tier", "Misleading", etc.), optionally leave a note, and our team will look at it.

Is this official Minecraft?

No. GuessMyTier is a community project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang or Microsoft.
